Launch of European Respiratory Roadmap: A practical guide for a healthier future

In Europe, lung diseases are among the leading causes of disease and deaths. The chronic disease challenge facing Europe goes far beyond public health. If not addressed they threaten the Europe 2020 strategy.

6 September 2011 - 6 September 2011
Belgium
ERS would like to invite you to the launch of the first-ever European Respiratory Roadmap in the European Parliament on 6th September.

This European Respiratory Roadmap outlines health priorities in the respiratory field for the next decade, in particular, the future needs in prevention strategies, clinical care, the major research challenges, patient empowerment, and the need for excellent education and training. It pinpoints specific and cost-effective measures to prevent and control lung diseases in future.

Hosted by MEPs Catherine Stihler and Marian-Jean Marinescu, the launch of the Roadmap will be an opportunity to emphasise how effective healthcare and research can offer solutions to society’s big challenges, tackle the problem of an ageing population and contribute towards a productive and healthy workforce.
