Space Exhibition

NEREUS organizes an Exhibition on Space technologies at the Committee of Regions on 7 – 9 November 2011.

The NEREUS-space exhibition at the Committee of Regions is specifically focused on making the political level aware of the tremendous impact of space technologies, in particular the two European flagship projects EO/GMES and GNSS for the European citizen and life in regions. The story line and characteristics of this exhibition have the objective to communicate with politicians. The exhibition is going to comprise three parts: poster presentations of involved regions, some regional exhibits and a video on GMES/GNSS-uses at regional level.

The objectives of the exhibition are:

 Advocate the impact of space – Awareness rising towards the political level for the significance of space technologies, in particular the two European flagship projects EO/GMES and GNSS for the European citizen and life in regions.

 Demonstrate the added value of space to live in regions – How do space uses help to save costs, time, to make procedures more precise, more environmental friendly, more efficient. Space applications give potential solutions to fundamental problems of our society.

 Highlight the role of regions - Regions are important stakeholder as regards space, they need and already use space based service for a wide array of public purposes. By presenting regional posters, NEREUS aims at showing that many regions already use space for a considerable number of purposes, highlighting the fact that space responds to a variety of regional and structural needs for ALL regions in Europe not only space manufacturer and service providers.

 Regional diversity – Presenting the regional diversity of the network and the regional characteristics of each member region.
