MAITRE project: Media Training for Food and Nutrition Scientists
The first MAITRE media seminar will take place on Friday 23rd September as a satellite event of the Opatija International Conference "7th International Congress of Food Technologists, Biotechnologists and Nutritionists".
The second training is a two-day seminar, which will take place in Tallinn, Estonia on the occasion of the conference "Food/Feed Quality, Safety and Risks in Agriculture", on the 27th - 28th October. The seminar will focus on Communicating Food Science Research and will explain researchers how to deal with journalists and the media environment.
By sharing a common ground with media experts, researchers participant will familiarise themselves with the inner functioning of broadcast, print and online media, as a way to better disseminate their scientific results.
The hands-on seminars will address important points researchers should be aware of when interacting with the media, thus empowering them to better communicate their research.
MAITRE ultimately aims at giving food and nutrition research a wider profile in Europe, thus making the vast public more aware of the work that is being carried out in this research field.
