COIN Project - Enterprise Interoperability and Collaboration - Results
The mission of the Coin IP is to study, design, develop and prototype an open, self-adaptive, generic ICT integrated solution to support the above 2020 vision, starting from notable existing research results in the field of Enterprise Interoperability and Enterprise Collaboration.
COIN is an integrated project in the European Commission Seventh Framework Programme
The first main objective of COIN was to design and develop a pervasive, adaptive service system to host Baseline and Innovative COIN services for EI and EC and make them available under innovative on-demand, utility-oriented business models to European enterprise for running their business in a secure, reliable and efficient way.
The COIN System aims at addressing and solving EI/EC problems encountered by Networked Enterprises (supply chains, collaborative networks, business ecosystems) during the whole Virtual Organizations life-cycle (preparation and breeding, set-up and formation, operation and governance, dissolution and inheritance).
The COIN system is based on the platform federation concept that includes also a and Web Interfaces allowing EI/EC Services to be searched, discovered, ranked, orchestrated and executed by cross-organizational business processes.
The COIN Project (4 years project 2007-2011) is delivering its result with the completion of project activities. Among the main achievements:
