Training Course on Contractual and Financial Management in FP7 projects in Rome, Italy

This three-day training course is designed to provide a general overview of the main features of the FP7, focussing in particular on contractual and financial management, providing valuable guidance on FP7 proposal and grant agreement preparation, as well as in FP7 project planning and project management.

During the course participants will also learn how to deal with Grant Agreement negotiations and how to protect background and foreground IPR with a proper Consortium Agreement.
The following topics will be covered:
- Introduction to the FP7, overview of the main legal requirements in FP7 projects, analysis of the FP7 main funding schemes
- Presentation of the CORDIS website, of the Participant Portal and of the EPSS (Electronic Proposal Submission Service)
- Illustration of the European Commission's proposal on the rules of participation to Horizon 2020
- Analysis of the project application forms, with particular reference to financial forms
- Hints and tools to prepare a good project budget
- The Negotiation phase
- The Grant Agreement
- The Consortium Agreement
- Intellectual Property Rights
- Project monitoring, scientific reporting and financial reporting
- Financial management: 1) General financial provisions; 2) Direct costs: personnel; consumables; durables; subsistence costs; subcontracts; other direct costs; 3) Indirect costs and eligible methods of calculation; 4) Ineligible costs; 5) Certification requirements: procedures and required supporting documents
- Controls and sanctions.

The course is targeted to specifically address the needs of professionals and project managers involved in the management of FP7 projects, both in the private and public sector. The course can be a useful tool to help participants to effectively manage projects and further develop their internal management strategies. It can also provide a good opportunity to network and share good practices.THE COURSE WILL BE HELD IN ITALIAN. Courses can also be offered in English on demand.
