The First EMIS Forum on Water and Waste Water Management in Casablanca, Morocco

Within the framework of the MIRA (Mediterranean Innovation and Research Coordination Action) Project, the First Thematic Euro-Mediterranean Innovation Space (EMIS) Forum was organised in partnership with R&D Maroc in Casablanca, Morocco on 1-2 December 2011.

1 December 2011 - 2 December 2011
Germany
This Forum allowed researchers, representatives of companies and public administration to share their views on the issues coming out of the Mediterranean Partner Countries (MPC) cooperation projects with a particular emphasis on water and waste management, to explore the use of the different funding opportunities existing for EU-MPC cooperation.

Bringing together experts from the North and the South of the Mediterranean, this Forum was the first of its kind, addressing issues such as: De-contamination of the Mediterranean-industrial waste water; Integrated Water Management and Waste Water, and sustainable technologies; Innovation in Water and Waste Water Management in the Mediterranean and Valorisation of research results and technology transfer.

Presentations on policy tools, funding opportunities and international, national and regional initiatives followed interactive sessions serving as catalysts for collaboration opportunities. The attendance and active participation of numerous project representatives provided an opportunity for a very fruitful event.

The Second of this EMIS Forum will be organized in Tunisia on 25-26 June 2012 by focusing on the Renewable Energy Resources. For further details please visit the web site of MIRA:
