STREAM Policy Seminar in Marseille, France
The Seminar brings together representatives at European and national level in the policy aspects such as Robert Schröder from European Commission/DG Environment and Mr. Rui Rodrigues, Water Director in the Portuguese Water Authority, as well as innovators and representatives of EU projects like: XEROCHORE, INNOWATER, FLOW-AID, WATACLIC. The discussion will evolve around what extent policies on water and policy makers can ensure innovative water technologies to reach the market and address the current water challenges.
The programme will give ample opportunity for interactive discussions with around 50% of the time reserved for panel-debates and discussions with the audience.
Water scarcity and drought are crucial challenges all around the world. In Europe, mainly the Southern and Eastern European regions are affected and climate change will only further exacerbate the severity and effects of water scarcity and droughts. Innovative technologies can be a great asset in addressing these challenges by reducing water consumption by up to 40% but they face strong challenges to actually reach the market.
