Those planning to submit a proposal for a research project under the Fifth RTD Framework Programme are invited to attend a training course on "How to write a competitive proposal for the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5)" being held in Galway, Cork or Dublin during June 1999.

The course aims to train research managers and administrators in how to write professional and competitive proposals for FP5. It describes the relevance of FP5 to EU polices, common problems in proposal writing and the criteria for successful proposals.

Additionally the course provides tips on how to avoid duplication in proposal writing. It has been divided into four sections:

- An overview of the Fifth Framework Programme;
- How to write a competitive proposal;
- The EU dimension of the proposal;
- The "economic and social relevance".

The course, which is organised by the Irish Innovation Relay Centre in conjunction with Sean McCarthy, Hyperion, takes place on 16 June 1999 in Galway, Ireland; on 18 June 1999 in Cork, Ireland and on 22 June 1999 in Dublin.
