Project management workshops for FP4 project coordinators
The IETT is planning the courses to complement training provided by the European Commission at the launch of each project. The courses will aim to provide further training to improve project management skills, and increase the understanding of contractual, administrative and financial requirements and procedures, which should help coordinators with time management and monitoring of projects.
The agenda will include:
- Coordination and monitoring of work progress, deliverables and milestones;
- Preparation of reports and cost statements;
- Organising and running meetings, communication standards;
- Decision-making structure and processes;
- Handling disputes and avoiding common problems;
- Exercises and check lists for project managers.
The courses will be of particular benefit to coordinators of projects awarded in the recent FP4 calls, but coordinators of all on-going projects will be welcomed.
The workshops will take place as follows:
- Brite-Euram: 19 July 1999 London, 21 July 1999 Amsterdam, 22 July 1999 Brussels, 23 July 1999 Paris;
- Esprit/Telematics: 12 July 1999 London, 15 July 1999 Brussels, 16 July 1999 Amsterdam; 16 July 1999 Brussels.
Each workshop will take a maximum of thirty participants, which will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. The participation fee will be 420 euro.
The European Commission and the UK Department of Trade and Industry are supporting the workshops.
