IEEE multimedia conference looks at EU programmes

During the sixth IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) International Conference on Multimedia and Computing and Systems, taking place in Florence, Italy, between 7 and 11 June 1999, a full day will be dedicated to ongoing activities in the framework of European Union programmes with emphasis on multimedia.
The opening day of this event will be devoted to tutorials addressing key topics in multimedia, such as distributed multimedia, operating systems support and standards, human computer interaction, and multimedia databases.
In general this event will display results and current projects and perspectives. Special sessions during the conference will focus on storage architectures and trends for multimedia.
