Training for professionals within in the Information Society

A European symposium on telematics, hypermedia and artificial intelligence in education and training for the new professions in the Information Society will take place in Varese, Italy, on 21 and 22 June 1999.
This two-day symposium is jointly organised by the Universita' degli Studi dell'Insubria at Varese and the European Consortium of the THAIland (Telematics, hypermedia and artificial intelligence) project, which is being funded under the European Commission's Socrates programme.
The aim of this event is to bring together expert form different areas of computer science, artificial intelligence and other disciplines, both from academic environment and the public/private enterprise, who have a common interest in exploring the new employment opportunities that arise form the recent trends in information and communications technologies (ICT).
