IT creates new possibilities for the textile industry

The first Erba Meeting on information technologies (IT) for the textile industry will be held in Cernobbio, Italy, on 8 and 9 July 1999. This meeting will call on professionals in the sector to examine means and strategies to be adopted in order to benefit from the competitive advantages made possible by new IT tools.
The textile industry has gained significant benefits from the use of IT. These achievements can be spread through the textile and clothing sector if more heads of companies are made aware of these benefits. To raise awareness of these benefits, Ascontex, the Italian Association of Textile Consortia is organising this meeting, supported by the European Commission's Information Society Project Office (ISPO).
