Finnish event addresses information technologies for SMEs

During the Finnish Presidency, the SME Forum will be organised in Helsinki on 16 and 17 September 1999. The theme for this Forum will be the use and impact of information technologies (IT) and other new technologies on SMEs and their competitiveness, and the role of public and private support services in this.

The SME Forum will take place in the form of a plenary as well as parallel sessions. Three different workshops will be held on the following areas:

- Administrative services for SMEs in the information technology era;
- Support services for users of new technology;
- How support services can boost the fast-growth suppliers of IT and technology.

The forum is being organised by the Finnish Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the European Commission, DG XXIII.
