EPoSS General Assembly, Annual Forum & Engagement Day 2012 in Paris, France

The event will take place in Paris, 26-28 September 2012. Participation is free of charge for EPoSS members, speakers and poster presenters.

A Call for Presentations was launched for the EPoSS Annual Forum (Deadline for abstract submission is 5th August 2012), and participants have the opportunity to exhibit a poster illustrating a project, product or technology.

You are cordially invited to participate in the EPoSS General Assembly, Annual Forum & Engagement Day 2012 to be held in Paris, 26-28 September 2012.
This year’s 3-day combined Conference and Engagement Day is an excellent opportunity to
- meet with key representatives from industry, research and the European Commission
- learn about and get involved in areas where Smart Systems contribute to European industrial leadership and to solving societal challenges
- join the EPoSS Community in the discussion on approaches to Smart Systems products and services leading tomorrow’s markets
- take on an active role in defining research priorities and roadmaps for future research
- make use of the opportunity to disseminate results from your research projects and to promote your innovative products or technologies at the poster exhibition
- benefit from a special tutorial on regulation compliance as a success factor for innovative projects and a marketplace organised by the COWIN project.

Programme
--------------
Throughout the 3-day event, there will be a poster exhibition that will illustrate Smart Systems projects, and showcase innovative products and technologies, as well as a COWIN Marketplace.

1st Day – Wednesday, 26 September 2012
The EPoSS General Assembly (starting at 3 pm) is dedicated to EPoSS members and all those who intend to become a member. It will comprise reporting on the platform’s activities, operational and financial issues, and the activities of the EPoSS Working Groups, a presentation of future strategies and priority areas, as well as elections of the EPoSS Chairman and Vice Chairmen. Dedicated EPoSS Working Group meetings and a dinner event will complete the first day‘s programme.

2nd Day – Thursday, 27 September 2012
The EPoSS Annual Forum is open to all stakeholders. It will comprise high-level keynote speeches and selected presentations from the EPoSS Call for Presentations as set out below. Representatives from industry and research will present on Smart Systems contributing to industrial leadership and solutions for societal challenges. The conference will begin at 9:00 am and end at 4:30 pm. Following this, there will be a meeting of the EPoSS Key Technologies Working Group, a specialist tour of the poster exhibition, and a reception for those staying for the EPoSS Engagement Day.

3rd Day – Friday, 28 September 2012
The EPoSS Engagement Day (ending at 4 pm) will focus upon how Smart Systems providers can better connect with user communities. It will start with a COWIN Tutorial on regulation compliance, followed by sessions on the medical devices aspect of Micro-Nano-Bio Systems, the Internet of Things and a review of roadmaps for the exploitation of Smart Systems.

Poster Exhibition

This year, participants have the opportunity to exhibit a poster illustrating a project, product or technology, using the exhibition as a targeted dissemination activity in the case of funded research projects, to attract partners for new projects, and as a showcase for innovative products and technologies that should interest and stimulate the Smart Systems community. COWIN Tutorial & Marketplace

At the EPoSS Engagement Day on 28 September 2012 COWIN will organize a COWIN Tutorial. Additionally, a COWIN Marketplace will take place throughout the 3-day event.
