European Coordination Workshop on access to and preservation of scientific information

On 22 October 2012 e-InfraNet and Knowledge Exchange will organize a European Coordination workshop on access to and preservation of scientific information.

22 October 2012 - 22 October 2012
Austria
On 17 July 2012 the European Commission issued a recommendation on access to and preservation of scientific information. The aim of this workshop is to bring together e-Infrastructure providers and information experts from the member states to explore which actions are required to fulfill the recommendation.

At the workshop participants will explore where it would be worthwhile to coordinate actions in the member states in response to this recommedation. The actions and associated steps will be collected in a roadmap. The workshop also aims to explore whether there is a need for a dedicated entity (a body or an organisation) responsible for jointly addressing these issues in the future. It is envisaged that this roadmap and entity would provide a firm basis for member states when connecting with larger global initiatives.

e-Infrastructure providers and research funders from each of the member states are being invited to attend.

When: Monday 22 October 2012, 9:00-17:00. This is directly prior to the EUDAT conference.

Where: The workshop will take place at the conference venue of the EUDAT conference. This is the AXA auditorium, which is situated in a business and commercial area about 15 minutes from the center of Barcelona. For more details please see: http://www.eudat.eu/venue(opens in new window)
