EU activities on show at the Frankfurt Book Fair

The European Commission, DG XIII, will be presenting two seminars on the digital content industries at the Frankfurt Book Fair, on 13 October 1999, in Frankfurt.
The main focus of DG XIII's 1999 activities in this area have been the start of the User-friendly Information Society (IST) programme, part of the Fifth Framework Programme, and the INFO2000 programme, which is designed to stimulate the development of the European digital content market.
The agenda will mirror these events, with an electronic publishing seminar (IST) in the morning, and a presentation of INFO2000 results in the afternoon. This will be followed by the presentation of the nominees for the Europrix MultimediaArt 99 to the public.
