Focusing on research driven clusters, the RoK scheme was aimed at strengthening and developing the capacities for excellent research in the regions in particular by encouraging transnational cooperation of regional innovative clusters, associating universities, research centers, enterprises and regional authorities. RoK scheme is not going to be continued in Horizon 2020 but will be integrated in the Cohesion Framework, Territorial Cooperation part.
The scheme constitutes a very important link between the Research and Innovation Framework and the Structural Funds. Therefore, the presentation of policy context and specific measures supporting clusters and fostering international cluster cooperation will give insight into the opportunities for development of RoK scheme in new programming period. During the workshop clusters position in innovation policy strategies on regional, national and EU levels to increase involvement of cluster organizations in RDI projects will be presented. Specific recommendations on policy actions and concrete practical tools to contribute to development of better cluster policies in Europe and provide better use of clusters in a broader policy context will be shown.Venue: Tietgensgade 65, 1704 Copenhagen, Denmark
