UK-assist encourages oil and gas researchers to exploit FP5

The European oil and gas innovation forum (EUROGIF) and UK-ASSIST is inviting members of the oil and gas industry to participate in an information dissemination workshop about opportunities in the European Commission's Fifth RTD Framework Programme. The event will be held in Aberdeen, Scotland, on 31 August 1999.
Approximately 180 million euro will be available for research proposals from the oil and gas industry, which the event organisers will be encouraging researchers to exploit.
The purpose of the workshop is to inform and encourage technology developers (particularly SMEs) in the hydrocarbon sector to consider participation in the call for proposals under the Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development programme, open until 4 October 1999.
The agenda includes:
- Overview of FP5;
- How to submit a proposal;
- Finding partners and collaborators, and what happens next;
- What thematic networks are and the advantages of participation.
The organisers are expecting representatives from the hydrocarbons industry from around the world to attend, providing an excellent opportunity for researchers to identify potential project partners. Representatives of the EU will also be there to give presentations.
