A seminar dedicated to 'Best practice for SMEs in electronic commerce' will take place in Brussels on 30 September 1999.

The event will be hosted by the KITE project which collects and analyses current practice among SMEs participating in electronic commerce in Europe, and is funded by the European Union under the Esprit programme.

Organisers claim that the successful uptake of electronic commerce by SMEs is now a key component of policy at European, national and regional levels. The seminar aims to provide a valuable insight into current best practice for SMEs by looking at the following areas: customers facing e-commerce; suppliers facing e-commerce; trust; security and financing.

The seminar is not only targeted at SMEs, but will also be of interest to intermediary organisations with connections to SMEs.
