Policy Makers to Strategize on Future of EU Tourism

BRUSSELS, January 18, 2013: The EU Strategy for Tourism Seminar, “EU Strategy for Tourism Seminar” will bring together policy makers, key representatives of the Irish tourism industry, European tourism operators and travel association to discuss a strategy that could pave the way to greater competitiveness and sustainability for the sector in the future.

The seminar will present an opportunity to discuss the rationale for inclusion of tourism in the EU's Multi-Annual Financial Framework 2014-2020. The key presentation on this topic will be given by Mr Raymond Keaney, Lecturer in Tourism & Hospitality Studies at the Institute of Technology Tallaght. Other presenters will include industry experts and their contributions will explore new opportunities that additional EU funds, and a genuine European tourism strategy, could bring.

Mr Jim Higgins, Member of the European Parliament and the Institute of Technology Tallaght invite interested parties to the seminar, ‘’EU Strategy for Tourism’’ which will take place on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the European Parliament in Brussels, from 10h30 until 12h30.
