Furniture Technologies Conference 2000
The aim is to bring together commercial and academic organisations and disseminate information to ensure that the furniture industry becomes increasingly competitive by exploiting new technologies.
The conference will be of interest to all those who work in the furniture industry, including raw material suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, component suppliers, designers, technologists, senior managers, academics, specifiers and buyers.
Authors are now invited to submit a brief abstract on the following topics: minimising the effects of the industry on the environment; maximising the benefits to be gained through effective use of the expanding information technology market; improving the efficiency and flexibility of production and distribution processes; improving knowledge of existing materials and technologies both within and outside the furniture sector; developing a flexible and creative workforce at all levels within a company; identifying and developing new or alternative materials, products and processes including technology transfer; and changing consumer perceptions of furniture through design, marketing and quality.
The event will be staged by FIRA, the provider of research and information programmes for the Furniture Industry Research Association.
