Food & Health Entrepreneurship Program in Barcelona, Spain
Attendees must bring an innovative technology or research results.
Researchers and engineers working in the food field will be trained by experts in marketing, intellectual property and business skills, taking their research projects from the lab to the market, enhancing their commercial opportunities and benefiting society with their scientific findings. They will widen their network with Food Companies and Investors, facilitating knowledge transfer.
Through the course the attendees will:
· Network with industry executives from Food Companies, Investors, and scientists and engineers working on the food field.
· Learn to present their research projects/technologies in a way easily understandable by a non-expert audience like some investors.
· Learn about property rights and how to use them in their research activities.
· Evaluate their technologies from a market point of view (evaluation of opportunities, competitive advantages of the product/ technology, potential competitors, expected sales and clients, etc).
· Better understand business concepts related to financing, work teams, investment, subsidies, etc.
· Learn how to interact with companies and their agents when executing collaborative research.
The Program is organized by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in collaboration with University of California Davis and with the support of UAB Research Park (PRUAB) & Research Institute of Agrofood (IRTA). The program is sponsored by Danone and Gallina Blanca.
