MEET is a Cross Channel network looking at the Materials for Energy Efficiency in Transport. This project has been funded by the ERDF Interreg IV programme over the next three years.
MEET is holding its FIRST research workshop over 2 days in March 2013 hosted in the UNESCO world heritage city of Bath, United Kingdom. Registration for this event is FREE, however please note it does not include accommodation or any travel costs.
The Workshop will look to bring together both academia and industry for presentations by keynote and thematic speakers in the field of materials in energy efficiency in transport research and practice. As well as dissemination, the workshop seeks to stimulate discussion on future research agenda and proposal development, including seminar sessions. This workshop will be innovative and highly interactive looking to meet your interests.
The Workshop will include:
Opportunities to learn more about MEET, its objectives and aims over the next 3 years
Opportunities to collaborate with other delegates on potential research proposals
Presentations on the MEET thematic research areas
State of the Art key note talks by leading researchers in the field
Open Space workshop to generate research agendas
Access to a European Research Development advisor to develop potential proposals
Networking with academic and industry delegates
Poster session
The Workshop is a potentially unique opportunity for all those interested in materials for energy efficiency in transport to network and investigate potential to collaborate in developing potential research proposals to funding bodies such as EPSRC, EU FW7, Horizon 2020 and the UK Technology Strategy Board.
PROGRAMME DETAILS: The event includes presentations, workshops, breakout sessions, poster area and networking opportunities around project major themes:
◦structure lightening or energy harvesting
◦composites for green materials
◦thermoelectricity for energy harvesting
◦LED/OLED for display system use
◦zeolites for cleaner energy technologies, savings and efficient transport
◦fuel cells
ACCOMMODATION: Please note that special rates have been negotiated with the Bath Spa Hotel for this event.
A limited number of rooms are being held for potential delegates however these must be booked as soon as possible. This offer will not be available after 6 February 2013. Please note that the free Research Workshop will not cover your accommodation and travel costs.
