The third European symposium on feed enzymes will take place in Noordwijkerhout, The Netherlands, from 8 to 10 May 2000. The event is being organised by TNO, the Dutch contract research organisation.

In the past decade, use of enzymes has taken a substantial share of livestock and poultry feed. It is assumed that enzymes have strong potential for further exploitation in animal feed. However, further development of feed enzymes will require regular exchange of information and interaction between all relevant parties.

The symposium will cover topics such as:

- Outlook on the future of animal nutrition;
- New developments in feed enzymes;
- Applications of enzymes and their mode of action;
- New enzyme applications;
- Innovative improvements of enzyme stability;
- The phytase story;
- Needs of the feed industry.

The organisers are currently looking for abstracts of papers for presentation at the symposium. One page abstracts should be submitted by 1 November 1999.
