30 September 1999 - 30 September 1999
An information day on the User-friendly Information Society (IST) programme under the European Union's Fifth RTD Framework Programme will be held in Manchester, in the UK, on 30 September 1999. It will be a day for briefings, consultation and advice to promote participation in the second call for proposals (due to be published on 15 September). The conference will be of particular interest to companies and organisations that have not previously participated in Information Society projects and want to learn more.
Keynote speeches will provide a comprehensive introduction to the IST programme, and there will also be an exhibition-style market place offering information and advice, plus the opportunity to make contacts and meet potential partners. Specialist advisors will be present at the event, including staff from the European Commission and the UK Department of Trade and Industry, as well as members of the UK national contact point, UKISHELP team.
