The Community of Science is organising a conference on 'International perspectives on current research information', in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, on 30 September and 1 October 1999.
The conference, which is by invitation only, will provide an ideal opportunity for US and European practitioners alike to exchange information and best practice on the dissemination of current research information. With the growing use of the Internet, current research information is becoming much more widely accessible, both within individual institutes and across different sectors and regions. American initiatives such as PubMed (government), HighWire Press (university) and Jstor (foundation), and commercial initiatives such as the Community of Science will be presented and discussed. from the European side, ERGO, SAFARI and INDARD will be presented.
