The tenth mini-Euroconference 'Human-centred processes' (HCP'99) is scheduled for 22 to 24 September 1999 in Brest, France, and will embrace the field of cognitive science. It is geared towards professional users who are involved in human factors in companies and complex systems centred on human skills and abilities.

Cognitive science considers the operational strategies and processes used by human beings in the work place. The conference has been organised, partly in response to the European COMAPS Brite-Euram-funded project (Cognitive management of anthropocentric production system). Its purpose is to bring together:

- Industrialists dealing with questions related to cognition;
- Researchers who are experts in cognitive science;
- Operation researchers interested in discussing human centred approaches applied to complex industrial problems.

The topics covered by the conference will therefore concern industrially oriented themes where human-centred approaches have already proved beneficial.
