ENSURE to demonstrate at eHealth week in Dublin, Ireland
ENSURE, an FP7 project developing a reference architecture for the long term preservation of digital data, will be demonstrating how ENSURE can be used to configure and deploy a scalable, cost effective preservation solution meeting the requirements of the healthcare industry at eHealth 2013, May 13-15 in Dublin.
13 May 2013 - 15 May 2013
Belgium
Huge amounts of electronic patient data are currently being produced annually, and this trend will continue to grow exponentially as not only more hospitals start migrating to paperless environments, but also as new technologies, such as low cost gene sequencing and continuous monitoring data, become prevalent. However, the IT infrastructure for reliably and cost efficiently preserving this data for the long term is lagging way behind the ability to generate the data.
ENSURE, an FP7 project in long term digital preservation, has been creating a reference architecture for a system which can securely and scalably maintain healthcare data over its lifecycle. ENSURE innovations include cost and quality optimization engines to create a financially viable system, support for ontology aging, as well as support for storlets, code which runs on the storage server, close to the data for faster and more secure operations on stored data, reducing bandwidth costs.
ENSURE will be demonstrating its results in a booth at eHealth Week 2013, to be held in Dublin, May 13-15.
