Biotechnology in the agricultural sector
The conference is hoped to make a substantial contribution to market-oriented research, development and applications of biotechnology in the agricultural sector in Poland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany and Hungary. The conference will also be open to participants from all other European countries.
In addition to agriculture, the following topics will be discussed:
- Biotechnology in the food industry;
- Biotechnology applications for environmental problems (e.g. biodegradation);
- 'The cell factory'.
The organisers also hope the event will help to promote successful market-oriented RTD cooperation, inform participants of the current strategies for promoting biotechnological developments and also offer links for research cooperation.
The brokerage event will also provide a meeting place for research institutes and companies to meet potential partners with a view to creating cooperation in the fields of 'the cell factory', environmental biotechnology and biodegradations, as well as biotechnology in the food industry.
The Bureau for International Research and Technology Cooperation (BIT) - Austria and the Technology Centre of the Academic Sciences - Czech Republic, are organising the event in cooperation with the Austrian Science and Research Liaison Office Brno, Innovation Relay Centre/FEMIRC and Eureka networks.
The conference is aimed at small and medium-sized biotech enterprises, scientists from academia, and research institutes interested in cooperation with companies, as well as intermediaries involved in market-oriented research cooperation, and banks and investment or venture capital companies.
