'WORKSHOP: Horizon 2020: The story so far...' in Cambridge, UK

Workshop Date: 9 May 2013
Workshop Location: Cambridge, UK
Workshop Organisers: Singleimage Limited

9 May 2013
Austria
Horizon 2020 is the successor to FP7 and is scheduled to start in 2014. This new programme will incorporate all research and innovation funding currently provided through FP7, along with the majority of related activities of the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme, and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology – with only one set of rules!

The European Commission’s proposals for Horizon 2020 run over 1000 pages of documents and supporting analysis. These proposals are now under consideration by the European Parliament and the EU Member states, who will jointly decide the final shape and rules of the programme – with an overall aim of simplification, in comparison to FP7.

This workshop will explain the proposals, and adjustments, that are under discussion amongst the decision makers at present. It will highlight the main differences between Horizon 2020 and FP7 and give an insight into the fundamental workings of the new programme.

The workshop is aimed at research advisors and business managers who have an understanding of FP7, and who now need to understand the debate that is underway concerning the successor programme.
