Participants in the European Organisation for Conformity Assessment (EOTC) 'New Approach Guide '99 Edition' workshop, to be held in Brussels on 7 October 1999, will have an opportunity to meet the speakers and learn about the review, development and future of the 'New Approach Guide 99'.

The workshop will begin with a review of the situation by the Commission, followed by individual presentations on notified bodies, CE marking, market surveillance and external aspects.

There will also be a feedback session on working problems and opportunities involving speakers from European industry, third countries, and representatives from conformity and notified bodies. Mr David White, Head of Unit III/B.1 (Coordination of regulatory activities and international aspects of the internal products market) of the Commission's Industry DG, will present the closing remarks for the event.
