A Conference entitled 'Integrated and holistic perspectives on learning, instruction and technology' will be held in Bergen, Norway, on 1 and 2 October 1999.

Issues related to the integration of technology into learning environments are becoming increasingly important to the instructional design community, and this conference aims to discuss how this can best be achieved.

Active participation will be encouraged throughout and opportunities for informal get-togethers will be provided. The presenters represent several groups who have been working together informally for several years in the area of instructional technology. These groups include the Instructional Design Special Interest Group of EARLI, the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance and Instruction, the International Consortium for Courseware Engineering, and the Structural Learning and Intelligent Systems Special Interest Group of AERA.
