Information day for earth observation research

Opportunities for earth observation research under the Fifth Framework Programme will be discussed during an information day being organised by the European Commission, DG XII. The event will take place in Brussels, on 6 October 1999, and concerns in particular opportunities in the Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development programme.
Two key areas to be covered are earth observation in the generic research activities section of the call published on 20 March 1999 (OJ No C 77 of 20.3.1999 p. 19), and earth observation in global environmental monitoring. The aim of the day is to present the topics covered in the work programme and to give participants the opportunity for networking.
In addition to presentations of the opportunities in the Fifth Framework Programme, there will also be an overview of recent EO research funded by the EU. There will be separate networking session, at which participants will have the possibility to make a one minute presentation of their organisation and project ideas.
