The 16th Photovoltaic solar energy conference and exhibition
The event is aimed at emphasising the growing demand for the development of renewable energy sources, and the need to launch an ecological industrial revolution which could secure an environmentally friendly, long-term and fairly distributed energy supply.
It will therefore be a showcase for the development of photovoltaic (PV) technology, and will focus on practical deployment and related experience in cost effective use of PV, previous application programmes and new schemes
The programme will include:
- Plenary lectures focusing on the state of the art in PV;
- Oral and poster presentations of specific research, development and demonstration projects, PV applications and market aspects;
- Exhibition of PV products and services;
- Scientific tours and a social programme.
Papers are invited on the following topics:
- Fundamentals, novel devices and new materials;
- Crystalline silicon solar cells and technologies;
- Thin film cells and technologies;
- PV modules and components of PV systems;
- PV integration in buildings;
- Implementation, strategies, national programmes and financing schemes;
- Space cells and systems.
The event is supported by the European Commission, the United Kingdom's Department of Trade and Industry, the City of Glasgow, the British photovoltaic association and the European photovoltaic industry association.
