Employment, environment and the city
On the basis of discussions and presentations of the latest developments and practices for creating 'green jobs', it is planned that a Gothenburg Action Plan will be adopted, to serve as a guide for local action. Speakers will come from various interested parties, including the European Commission, NGOs, industry, the International Institute for the Urban Environment, and the European Trade Union Federation. A number of workshops will also be organised, covering the following topics:
1. Local level instruments for a sustainable economy;
2. Stimulating companies to become green;
3. Liveability in the city;
4. Utilising the creativity of citizens to protect their environment;
5. Environment and employment projects;
6. Urban infrastructure - a chance for employment;
7. New supplies of energy;
8. Local sources;
9. Human resources and training;
10. The role of information and new technology.
