Euro-Med Conference

Israel is hosting the 1999 Euro-Med conference that this year is dedicated to the theme: Technology in Learning Environments - Tele99 - The Learning Citizen. Supported by the European Commission and organised with the cooperation of the Open University of Israel, the conference will take place in Tel Aviv from 25 to 27 October 1999.

The event will focus on dialogue, interaction and collaboration between nations on the integration of technology in learning environments.

Commission officials of the Information Society Directorate-General will present EU funding opportunities. Organisers hope the event will provide an opportunity for participants to formulate tentative proposals and promote collaboration with a view to participating in the Fifth Framework Programme, and in particular the second call for project proposals under the IST programme which closes on 15 January 2000 (opening 1 October 1999).

In addition presentations will be given on active projects, including site visits and virtual site visits.
