Treatment and recovery of shredder light fraction
The conference is intended to address one of the targets of the European Commission's Directive on 'End of Life Vehicles', which looks to increase reuse and recovery to at least 95% of the weight of individual vehicles. Approximately 75% is currently reused and recovered, and so, the organisers say, extensive research and development is necessary to implement new technologies to meet this objective.
An overview of the state-of-the-art in industry and the situation in countries across Europe will be given at the conference, where new technologies will also be presented.
The following subjects will be addressed:
- Shredder operation and technology;
- Legislation;
- Design for recycling;
- Methods for the treatment and recovery of shredder light fraction including energy recovery.
There will also be an opportunity to visit a shredder operator and a modern chemical recycling plant.
