Intelligence in services and networks - IS&N 2000
Telecommunications is the enabler of the developing Information Society, with members of that society benefiting hugely from the provision of affordable, high quality ubiquitous services. The development of information technology and telecoms is growing constantly and will continue to grow in the early years of the 21st century. This wide-ranging development will result in growing convergence of the two, with the eventual outcome a single, entirely integrated system.
The conference will focus on trends and enabling technologies which can be brought to bear in the integrated environment. Topics to be covered will include:
- Service and network architectures and management;
- Mobile intelligent agents;
- Active networks;
- Location-based services;
- Service provision over Internet;
- E-commerce platforms and applications;
- Service modelling, verification and deployment;
- Virtual home environments;
- Quality and security;
- Challenges of convergence and migration from legacy systems.
The organisers are now seeking abstracts of papers for submission at the conference. They are also seeking short informal papers - covering last-minute results - may be submitted up to 5 January 2000.
