Is Eureka for SMEs?

Eureka, the organisation aimed at fostering cooperation between industry throughout Europe, is holding its High-level Group meeting this week in Stuttgart, Germany, on 21 October. The organisation has invited a number of small and medium-sized business enterprises to participate in the meeting to discuss to what extent Eureka is in fact useful for SMEs.
This intensification of dialogue with industry is the response of Eureka's German chair to recommendations made by the Ministerial Conference held in Istanbul earlier this year. This process of direct industrial involvement in steering Eureka will continue to be followed throughout the year, according to the organisation's Brussels-based secretariat. At forthcoming meetings of the High-level Group, there will be a special focus on the Central and Eastern European countries in Berlin in April 2000, and on strategic projects in Hanover in June 2000.
