In a nutshell
In October 2013 the MESMA project will come to an end. We want to share our results and experiences with you in the MESMA Final Conference, which will be held in Lisbon on the 8-10 October 2013.
The deadline for abstracts is 1 September. We specifically would like to invite and encourage people from outside the MESMA project to submit their abstracts.
Please register via our website. The fee is 105 Euros for the three days, including the conference dinner.
What to expect?
The three day conference will explore three key elements of Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) comprising spatial data and models, monitoring and evaluation, and governance of MSP. Illustrated by renowned key note speakers, the conference will provide a platform to discuss underpinning science, practical tools and emerging issues in MSP (see the extensive programme on our website: www.mesma.org ).
• Day 1 – Policy day.
• Day 2 - MESMA Launch
• Day 3 - State of the art in MSP Evaluation and Monitoring (Science day)
Project information
The EU FP7 project MESMA (2009-2013) focuses on marine spatial planning and aims to produce integrated management tools (concepts, models and guidelines) for Monitoring, Evaluation and implementation of Spatially Managed marine Areas, based on European collaboration.
