RIAO 2000 - Content-based multimedia information access

The RIAO 2000 conference will take place in Paris, from 12 to 14 April 2000, and will focus on the topic of content-based multimedia information access.
The event will cover all aspects from the traditional processing of text documents to new fields such as automatic indexing and retrieval, and in general, all forms of processing of audiovisual and multimedia information for various distribution media including the Internet. The aim is to bring together researchers from different disciplines, and from both academic and industrial research, to promote cross-discipline initiatives and innovative applications. The communities to be represented will include information retrieval, natural language processing, spoken language processing, computer vision, human-computer interaction and digital libraries.
The organisers have published a call for abstracts of papers for presentation at the conference.
