A brokerage event focusing on advanced technologies for new generation vehicles will be held in Valencia, Spain, on 25 and 26 November 1999. Sixteen countries are participating in the event, hoped to stimulate cross border collaboration and technology transfer in this area.

The AUTO 2005 event addresses European industries and research institutes. It will bring together industrialists, suppliers and researchers from countries active in the automotive field. The organisers hope to stimulate local involvement (Spanish companies) with industries from other countries.

The event will include plenary sessions, parallel workshops, individual meetings and poster presentations:

- Plenary sessions:
- -In the opening plenary session, experts will give an introduction to the event's theme and will present the Eureka programme and the FACTORY umbrella (the instrument through which this brokerage event is launched). Schemes for financing Eureka projects and example cases of the Eureka finished projects will also be presented;

- Parallel workshops:
- -A limited number of participants will discuss a specific topic within the general theme of the event. Two co-chairman who are experts in this specific field will guide each workshop. Each participant will give a brief presentation of their project idea and company or institution profile;

- Individual meetings:
- - Participants will receive documentation related to the other participants and projects to help them select the participants for personal meetings;

- Poster presentation:
- - Participants may present their project idea or proposal as well as their company or institution profile through a poster. The posters will be displayed throughout the event.

The event is being organised by the National Agency for Development of Industrial Technology and the Valencia Institute for the medium and small sized industry in close association with the Ministry of Industry and Energy of Spain and, amongst others, the Spanish Eureka office, which will take over the chair of the international organisation next year.
