IST and Growth UK events

The Institute of European Trade and Technology is holding UK information days relating to the second call for proposals under the EU's Competitive and Sustainable Growth programme, on behalf of the Department of Trade and Industry.
The events will be held on 15 November 1999 in London and 16 November 1999 in Birmingham. They will provide information and advice to organisations interested in participating in the second round of proposals to the Growth programme, part of the Fifth Framework Programme.
Commission officials will be on hand to explain the objectives and priorities of the Key Actions, in particular that on 'Innovative products, processes and organisations', as well as providing information on the generic activity on materials.
Lessons from the first call will be discussed and areas where proposals failed to meet the criteria will be highlighted.
There will be a special session for small and medium-sized enterprises dedicated to specific SME support measures.
IETT is also continuing with proposal writing and project management workshops for the IST and Growth programmes.
A two-day course on proposal writing is scheduled for 25 and 26 November 1999 in Brussels; 16 and 17 December 1999 in London; 18 and 19 January 2000 in Amsterdam; and 3 and 4 February 2000 in Paris. Day one will provide a detailed introduction to the Growth programme and the requirements for submitting a successful proposal. Day two will provide a step by step guide to successful proposal writing. The workshops, which are led by growth experts, are delivered through lectures, group exercises, discussions, case studies and one to one consultations.
For the IST programme a proposal writing and project management course will be held on 6 and 7 December 1999 in Amsterdam. It is aimed at those preparing proposals under the current call or future calls as well as current and future IST coordinators. Day one will provide intensive training in proposal writing and day two will provide information and advice on how to manage IST contracts efficiently and effectively.
