8 March 2000 - 8 March 2000
Switzerland
An international summit and exhibition covering all sectors and levels of education will take place in Zurich, Switzerland, from 28 to 31 March, 2000.

Billed as the leading international event in the educational sector, Worlddidac Education Summit 2000 is intended as a place of exchange where the educational demands of the 21st century can be discussed.

The conference consists of two parts. The first is a multidisciplinary convention of experts on 'educational sovereignty', which plans to take an unconventional approach to the concepts of learning, teaching and education. The second, a presentation from government officials on 'from uniformity to pluralism', provides an opportunity for education ministers from Central and Eastern European countries to discuss the impact of political changes during the 1990s on their educational systems.

There will also be a scientific seminar on the 'futures of education' and a series of workshops on 'how organisations learn to learn', and 'knowledge management: its impact on tomorrow's corporate organisation.' The Swiss company ABB will present a special show on 'vocational education and training close to reality.'
