ITU Telecom Asia 2000

ITU Telecom Asia 2000 will be the 23rd event since World Telecom was held in Geneva in 1971. Organised by the International Telecommunications Union and hosted by the People's Republic of China, the event will take place in Hong Kong, China, from 4 to 9 December 2000.

Asia 2000 is the first major ITU event to be held in China. It will comprise an exhibition and a forum. The exhibition will feature a vast range of telecommunications-related products and services, while the forum will focus on the latest telecoms developments.

The ITU's unique position as a specialised agency of the United Nations allows it to bring together in Hong Kong all the strategic players in world telecommunications, and the event will provide a platform for telecommunications leaders to share ideas on future trends and strategies for the future.
