A conference entitled 'Eco-efficiency 2000 - towards sustainable economic growth' will be held in Malmö, Sweden, from 19 to 21 June 2000. This will be a business-oriented event aimed to offer a qualified arena and a marketplace to scientists, executives and other professionals and business people from the industry and industry-related sectors as well as from the public.
The first day of the conference will be devoted to outlining the overall business framework and the eco-efficiency frontline strategies by challenging top scientists, CEOs, officials and politicians to demonstrate how to achieve sustainable development - socially, economically and technically.
The second and third day will be devoted to seminars on research and good eco-efficiency practice, which will cover research findings and applied techniques, methods, policies and system solutions. And there will also be an exhibition, at which participants will have the opportunity to show their results, business ideas, models, software and so on.
Additionally, participants will have an opportunity to visit a number of sites and facilities to learn more about good eco-efficiency practice, and to stimulate ideas for further development and improvement. Awards for different categories of the best eco-efficiency 2000 input will also be presented at the event.
