Our presence at this event also aimed to foster interaction amongst the over 300 participants and take on board some suggestions and worthwhile ideas for research that may be worth implementing within the project.

The Future Network and Mobile Summit 2013 took place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 3rd to 5th July 2013. This was the twenty-second in a series of Annual Conferences sponsored by the European Commission, which welcomes industrial and research delegates to share experiences and research findings, discuss business opportunities and identify future trends and opportunities for international research collaboration within the framework of FP7-ICT and Horizon 2020. It contributed to showcasing European field research, which places it within the multiplicity of sponsored initiatives in other regions of the world.

In the context of convergence and innovation, the 22nd Future Network and Mobile Summit addressed the challenges of building infrastructures for the internet of the future, based on mobile, wireless and fixed broadband communications technologies.

The Advanced Programme incorporated Plenary, Panel, Paper and Poster sessions and Workshops. The Future Network & Summit 2013 was opened by the General Co-chairs: Mário Campolargo, Director of "Net Futures" (DG CONNECT, European Commission) and Zeinal Bava, CEO, Portugal Telecom.
