How assess the quality, and how to evaluate the safety of herbal preparations used in food supplements are being studied by the PlantLIBRA project and the results of the first three years of activity of the project will be presented at the PlantLIBRA conference to be held in Beijing this coming November 3, 2013.
The conference will be an important opportunity of discussion also on legislation that regulates this kind of products in Europe and China and on on the differences between the different regulations.
The conference is part of the PlantLIBRA specific cooperation actions dedicated to international cooperation, and is mainly intended for SMEs involved in the field of PFS and to all interested parties about the quality and safety requirements of PFS and on the rules for marketing these products in Europe.

No 17, Souh Road, Dongsanhan, Chao Yang Distract, BeijingPlantLIBRA is a four year (2010-2014) European research project aiming to foster the safe use of food supplements containing plants or botanical preparations by increasing science-based decision-making by regulators and food chain operators.
The project is structured to develop, validate and disseminate data and methodologies for risk and benefit assessment and implement sustainable international cooperation.
