Austria hosts Fourth European Conference on Mobility Management
While the previous conferences primarily targeted urban transport issues, ECOMM 2000 will, for the first time, focus on important cross-border and regional aspects of Mobility Management.
'The concept of Mobility Management has proven a very promising approach to foster more sustainable (i.e. less car-based) travel' say the event organisers. Apart from local (urban) transport, Mobility Management has been increasingly and successfully applied at a regional level and in a cross-border context. ECOMM 2000 will bring together the experiences made so far, discuss current issues and draw up the way forward in regional and cross-border Mobility Management.
ECOMM 2000 will provide an opportunity for the exchange of information between authorities (local, regional and national), transport operators, consultants, researchers, companies and, in general, anyone with an interest in a more sustainable transport policy.
The core conference days will offer a series of keynote speeches, workshops and guided poster (video) presentations.
There will also be prior-meetings on 17 May, when, throughout the day, a special meeting service will be offered to companies, professional bodies, and research consortia wishing to combine their regular business meetings with their participation in ECOMM2000. In this case, free facilities (rooms and equipment) will be made available.
There will also be an exhibition with display facilities available for companies and organisations wishing to display products and services related to the conference topic.
Abstracts are now invited. The topics of interest are described on the event's dedicated web pages at:

ECOMM2000 is jointly organised by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, and Transport, the City of Bregenz, the Province of Vorarlberg and Verkehrsverbund Vorarlberg. It is also support by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Transport.
