The second EARSeL workshop on imaging spectroscopy will be held at the International Institute for Aerospace Survey and Earth Sciences (ITC) in Enschede, The Netherlands, from 11 to 13 July 2000. The symposium is organised jointly by the EARSeL Special Interest Group on 'Geological Applications' and will celebrate the ITC's 50th anniversary.

The conference is themed 'From air to space: Imaging spectroscopy for all'. It will celebrate the recent increase in availability of satellite imaging data to the scientific community. Participants will discuss the synergy between field-based, airborne and spaceborne spectroscopy and analytical methods.

The meeting will also be closely linked to the ISPRS 2000 conference (in Amsterdam from 16 to 23 July 2000) and the ITC's 50th anniversary, ensuring a large international audience and enabling discussion and further development of imaging spectroscopy and its role in developing countries, say the organisers.

There will also be a commercial and professional exhibition open to all companies and organisations with products and services related to the field of imaging spectroscopy.

A preliminary programme will be available from mid-January 2000.
